Love Chases Me

Dusk sets in

Fire glows,

Laughter and talk

Of burnt marshmallows

And where the chocolate went,

We eat pie, piled high

With clouds of cream

And rest

In each other’s company.

Yellow orange moon,

Rises over the

Quiet lake

Making reflections

Of itself.

The little ones

Chase fireflies

And capture them

In jars to glow.

And I think of You,

And how You glow

And how You know,

Everything.

Your beauty

And goodness begins

The chase

Showing up all over

The place,

It was Your idea,

To make bugs,

That light up trees,

Sparkling, magic

Like Christmas Eve,

It was You who

Created strawberries

Beautiful and sweet

To make into pie,

To share and to

To multiply.

You fashioned the moon,

And called out the stars

Just so we could find our

Way in the dark,

Your over- the- top

Goodness,

Pours out without end

Filling me up

To empty again.

Psalm 34:8

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him

Psalm 145:16

You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

Psalm 145:9

The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
